AI Recipe – Easy Spicy Hummus Recipe
Store bought hummus is good, but homemade hummus is even better (and it’s super easy to make). So, as part of our Cooking with AI series, where we’re making 1000 recipes with AI, I asked Orion for an easy spicy hummus recipe.
Orion created an AI spicy hummus recipe that was easy to make and also easy to adjust the spice level.
You can watch the Instagram reel or view the full recipe below and even save it to your own MyFoodPlanet account to use it in your meal plan.
The Delight of Homemade Hummus
Hummus, the creamy and savory Middle Eastern dip, is a favorite in many households. While store-bought versions are readily available, there’s something truly special about crafting your own hummus at home. Not only does homemade hummus allow for customization to suit your taste preferences, but it also offers the satisfaction of creating something delicious from scratch.
This easy spicy hummus recipe that Orion AI created for us can be used as a base for any hummus as well. Just remove the cayenne pepper and modify from there.
AI Easy Spicy Hummus Recipe: The Process
Blend or Process It: This recipe is so easy. Basically, you just blend everything together in a food processor or blender. The recipe Orion gave us has you blend the chickpeas, tahini, and lemon juice first and then add the remaining ingredients. However, I don’t even think that is necessary.
NOTE: You may need to scrape the sides of the bowl a few times to get everything blended. You don’t want to miss those spices that get stuck to the sides.
Adjust: The next step in the easy spicy hummus recipe is to adjust the consistency and spice level.
For the consistency, just add water to the food processer while it is running until you reach your desired consistency.
For spice level, you’ll want to taste the hummus and then add cayenne pepper if you want it spicier.
Garnish and Serve: Transfer the hummus to a serving bowl. Drizzle some extra virgin olive oil over it and sprinkle with a dash of paprika. You can also add a pinch of cumin or some freshly chopped parsley for a visually appealing finish.
Hummus is incredibly versatile and can be enjoyed in various ways. Serve it as a dip with warm pita bread, fresh vegetables, or crackers. Spread it onto sandwiches or wraps for added creaminess and flavor. It also makes a delightful addition to salads or grain bowls.
Additional Tips:
- For an extra smooth and creamy texture, remove the skins from the chickpeas before blending. While this step is optional, it does result in a silkier hummus.
- Experiment with additional flavorings such as roasted red peppers, sun-dried tomatoes, or fresh herbs like cilantro or basil to create unique hummus variations.
- Store homemade hummus in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week. If it thickens over time, simply stir in a bit of water or lemon juice to revive its consistency.
